Does Booking.com have price match?
Yes, to ensure you always get great deals at their properties, you can claim a refund for the difference if you find the same room cheaper elsewhere. To claim, it must be the same property type, same travel dates, and same cancellation policy.
Do I need to pay a deposit or prepayment?
Some properties require a deposit or prepayment in full when you book. Others may not require any payment when booking and you’ll simply pay the full amount during your stay at the accommodation.
Are taxes included in the price of the booking?
This depends on the accommodation, the property and the location. Taxes change on a country-by-country basis and the details can be found in your booking confirmation email. Some countries and cities, however, do charge a 'city tax' to tourists that you'll need to pay when you arrive at your accommodation.
Are meals included in my booking?
Meals and other items that are included in your booking will be detailed in your confirmation email. Even if you have booked an all-inclusive hotel, it’s worth checking what’s included to avoid any nasty surprises upon arrival.

Can I alter my booking at Booking.com?
Usually, you can make adjustments to your booking before you travel, but this is up to the individual accommodation provider. Changes may include altering dates, adding more rooms, upgrading rooms and more.
How to cancel a Booking.com booking
When you get your confirmation email, you can scroll to the bottom and click the "Cancel My Booking" button. This will take you to a page where you can complete your cancellation. You can also manage bookings and cancellations via the Booking.com app.
Are there fees for a Booking.com cancellation?
You should check the policy with your hotel before you book, but accommodation providers can now only use one of three charges for cancellations. These are one night’s rate, 50% of the stay, or the entire stay. Any of these fees may apply, whilst they could also offer free cancellation.

What is Genius by Booking.com?
Genius is a loyalty program created by Booking.com to reward its customers. The more you book, the more rewards you’ll receive and, as a result, the more you’ll save. It’s free to sign up, and you’ll start earning Genius discounts immediately.
How does it work?
Once you have registered for free, you’ll be granted Genius Level 1 status. There are three unlockable tiers: Level 1 offers 10% discounts, Level 2 offers 15% discounts and Level 3 offers 20% discounts. These can be used and redeemed on participating properties across the world and could even qualify you for a free room upgrade or free breakfast!
How do I move up through the tiers?
You’ll get closer to the next Genius Level every time you book and stay. To attain Level 2 status, you’ll need to have completed 5 stays in 2 years and to reach Level 3, you’ll need to have completed 15 stays in 2 years. You can't move back down once you’ve unlocked a level, meaning the rewards and discounts are yours forever!
How do I use my rewards?
Rewards and discounts are applied automatically, meaning you don’t have to worry about doing anything extra during the booking process.
Do all properties offer Genius discounts and rewards?
No, not all properties are eligible for rewards and discounts. Thankfully, you can easily spot the ones that do by the blue Genius logo on the property listing. As mentioned above, all participating properties will have rewards and discounts automatically applied to them as you proceed to book.
